Are you looking for a room in a family-run student residence in Klagenfurt? Then our Waaggasse house is the perfect place for you.
You will live right in the heart of the city, just a stone's throw from the hospital. Our small, well-maintained student residence is surrounded by a large garden and can accommodate 16 students, fostering a family atmosphere and a real sense of community.
And the rooms? As unique as you are! Some have their own bathroom, some have running water, and a few are very minimalist (yes, without running water, but with lots of charm). But don't worry; there are spacious shared bathrooms on each floor, as well as a large kitchen for cooking, relaxing, and getting to know each other.
Rooms & Prices
Freshly adapted and ready for student life! In spring 2025, the rooms were modernized to meet the needs of students in a cozy, functional, and personalized setting.
Although our residence is small, there is a wide variety of rooms to choose from: some have their own bathroom, some have running water, and some embrace charming simplicity without any. There are shared bathrooms on each of the two floors.
Clean clothes are also taken care of. Washing machines and dryers are available in the in-house laundry room for a small fee.
Location
Haus Waaggasse is located in the heart of Klagenfurt, just a short walk away from the hospital. It takes about 20 minutes by bike or bus to reach the Alpe-Adria University campus.
After the lecture, off to the Wörthersee! It's just around the corner from the university and is ideal for swimming, walking, stand-up paddleboarding, or simply relaxing in the sun. If you prefer something more active, there are numerous running and cycling routes in and around Klagenfurt.
Klagenfurt has even more to offer, including cool festivals, street food markets, concerts, open-air cinemas, and a vibrant cultural scene, making it the perfect place for students who want more than lecture notes and seminar rooms.

If you ever want to leave the communal kitchen at Haus Waaggasse, you'll be right in the middle of things. The center of Klagenfurt is right on your doorstep, with cozy cafés, small bars, and charming places to linger.
